From Mississauga, Ontario, 18 year old Phoenix Kelly started singing even before she could talk. Along the way she learned piano, guitar and songwriting.

In 2009 Lizz Kellermann was a finalist on YTV’s The Next Star, and since then has written original songs and given amazing adaptations to cover songs – her 2010 YouTube version of Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream attracted over 500,000 hits and her YouTube channel (Melody4242) has had almost 1.4 million views. Her Facebook and YouTube fans knew her as Lizz Melody or Lizz Kellermann before she adopted the stage name Phoenix Kelly.

After her 2011 performance at Canada’s Walk of Fame Emerging Artist stage she was signed by Jeff Burns of BKCI Entertainment in a joint venture with Slaight Music to produce Cool Boys, her first commercial single release, with David Bendeth. David is a well respected Canadian producer now based in New Jersey who has most recently contributed to the success of the well known Canadian band Hedley as their producer, and was awarded as SOCAN’s 2011 “Songwriter of the Year” for Hedley’s top selling song “Perfect.”

Cool Boys review from Noah Siegel at New Canadian Music
“YTV’s The Next Star finalist Phoenix Kelly turns to long-standing Canadian hit producer/songwriter Dave Bendeth to add a glistening edge to her debut single ‘Cool Boys’. It’s pure pop with a sleek, summery dance beat that bounces grooves and gives us a taste of what might happen if Katy Perry and the Eurythmics teamed up to let go. Kelly is signed to hit-talent maestro Jeff Burns’ BKCI Entertainment Inc. in a joint venture with Slaight Music, which suggests there is a more than credible team behind an already credible gal with looks that turns heads. Now Kelly (aka Kellermann) has a song that is gonna make you want to pump up the volume.”
