Kaylan Mackinnon is an up and coming singer-songwriter and actor from Toronto, Canada. Growing up Kaylan always shared a love for the arts but it wasn’t until she was around the age of 8 when she discovered Avril Lavigne, who inspired her to pursue her own dreams of becoming a singer-songwriter. Kaylan started writing music at the age of 15 while on a trip to Barbados with her family and has continued writing original songs ever since. In a matter of a year’s time, Kaylan managed to attract over 30,000 YouTube supporters and over 350,000 video views. Just this year, Kaylan was also nominated for “Best Young Songwriter” in the Toronto Independent Music Awards.
